About us

The ART.EAST FOUNDATION was founded in 1998 as the MIRO Foundation. Its founder and administrator is academic painter Andrej Smolák. The MIRO Foundation MIRO was in 2006 renamed to ART. EAST Foundation.

Its aim is to support creation of artworks and its promotion at home and abroad, organization of exhibitions, symposia, sessions, building of exhibition showrooms and galleries, organization of training activities in the form of lectures, excursions, literary and musical evenings, publishing of catalogues, books on fine arts, reproductions, promotion of domestic and foreign artists in the form of scholarships and funding study visits at home and abroad.

The Foundation has since its inception been dealing with implementation of various cultural projects, both on the national and international level. In 2008 it began to award Tibor Bartfay Prize for art and art support.

THE BODIES OF THE FOUNDATION:

 

The administrator of the Foundation is a statutory body of the foundation that manages the activities and acts on its behalf.

THE MANAGEMENT BOARD:

The members of the Board of Directors approve and direct the activities of the Foundation. They decide what projects will be supported and what funds will be allocated to individual applicants.
